About This Event
As part of the nationwide America 250 commemoration, Coastal Heritage Society invites the community to honor those who fought in the 1779 Battle of Savannah, one of the Revolutionary War's most pivotal conflicts, where approximately 800 troops were killed or wounded.
It is our privilege each year to remember their sacrifice and reflect on Savannah's enduring role in our nation's founding.
This event is free and open to the public.
Battlefield Memorial March will lead guests through the footsteps of soldiers on that historic day in 1779. The march will begin at 9:00 am. All march participants will meet in the Savannah History Museum parking lot at 8:45 am.
After the march, a wreath-laying and remembrance ceremony will be held on Battlefield Memorial Park.
