Flannery O'Connor Childhood Home

About

Flannery O'Connor is the published author of 31 short stories and two novels. She is the three-time winner of the O. Henry Award and the posthumous winner of the 1972 National Book Award for Fiction. Her fiction is often categorized as Southern Gothic and reveals an uncanny grasp of the nuances of human behavior.

Before she was the famous author, Mary Flannery O'Connor was an eccentric Catholic school girl growing up in Savannah from 1925 to 1938. Each room of the Flannery O'Connor Childhood Home has been closely restored to the Depression era with many original family furnishings, presenting unique insights into this period in Savannah's history and into the formative years of one of America’s greatest writers.
